Good Morning Magnolia

Today I have a card class and we will be making 6 cards (2 each of 3 different designs) and I’m going to share 2 of them with you before class. This card class features the Magnolia Lane Suite (pg. 37 AC) as well as the Magnolia Blooms stamp set from the Experience Creativity brochure.

For the first card I used the Magnolia Lane Memories and More Large Specialty Cards & Envelopes to show how easy it is to create a card with only a few items! I used a stripe of Magnolia Lane DSP and dove tailed it using my Triple Banner Punch. The sentiment is stamped in Old Olive on Whisper White Cardstock die cut with one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. Finally, the magnolia bud is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, colors with Stampin’ Blends (Daffodil Delight and Old Olive sets), and die cut with the Magnolia Memories Dies.

This card will come with the coordinating envelope and envelope liner to complete the look. The Magnolia Lane Memories & More Large Specialty Cards & Envelopes pack comes with enough pieces that you can make 20 cards!

Next we will make this card using some Perennial Essence DSP as our background. I love the DSP that Stampin’ Up! offers because it is high quality and double sided. This is the opposite side to the beautiful painted floral images and works really well with other stamp sets! I love the brushed or watercolor look of this DSP even though it’s more of a “solid” color than most DSP.

For this card I used a few more products than what comes in the Magnolia Lane Suite. I used the Be Mine dies for the scallop edging and the Everyday Label Punch for the sentiment from Magnolia Blooms. I also used a retired Stampin’ Blend color (Pink Pirrouette) because my shipment with Petal Pink was delayed. I always say use what you have and order what you can’t live without!

If you are local to me and interested in taking one of my classes please feel free to email or comment with your email so I can get you signed up! All of my classes are on my calendar here.

If you are not local and you want to take this class here’s how you can! Order the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle (151087 $63.75) or the Magnolia Lane Suite (152178 $134.75) using my current host code (August AGSACZMN). Using the host code will trigger me to create a class bundle for you and once your Stampin’ Up! order ships I will send you the class bundle (6 cards, 2 each of 3 designs) and directions to complete the cards.

To A Wild Rose

Here is a card I created using the inspiration from the #TGIFc220 challenge. I used the To A Wild Rose stamp set. I love how it turned out! I stamped all of the images using my Stamparatus. I wanted to make sure that the leaves I stamped on the background lined up with the rose that I die cut and popped up so I stamped just the outline rose stamp on my main panel and then stamped the leaves.

Even though you can’t see it in the picture, I spritzed the whole finished card with White Frost Shimmer Paint mixed in 70% Rubbing Alcohol. This is one of my new favorite ways to add sparkle and shine to a card! It will never photograph well, but the recipient will see it and I will know it is there!

If you want to play along in the TGIF Challenges you can find them here! I find a lot of inspiration from challenges and the people who participate in them!

Here’s A Card

I started following a collaborative account on Instagram a few months ago called Stampin’ Through The Catalog (@stampinthroughthecatalog if you want to follow along too)! I am so inspired by the cards that are posted to celebrate the new stamp sets in the annual catalog. You can also follow along with them on Facebook if you’re not on Instagram.

I was so excited to get the stamp set Here’s A Card because of the variety of sentiments (shown below), but when I sat down to stamp with it I couldn’t figure out how to showcase it own it’s own! I think it might be because I am so inspired by all of the amazing new products in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog that launched on June 4th.

I’ve used the Bird Ballad DSP with Smoky Slate and Pool Party Cardstock for my card and background. Then I accented my sentiment (stamped in Basic Gray) with the leaf image from the Free As A Bird stamp set in Old Olive.

I always finish the inside of my cards. Most often I add a stripe of DSP that coordinates with the outside, but in this case I also used one of the bird images from the stamp set included in the May “Shelli” Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Below is a picture of the complete Here’s A Card stamp set so you too can see all of the special sentiments. I love how they coordinate with each other and you can use one on the outside of the card and one inside or both outside.

I can’t wait to see how everyone else uses this stamp set! Head over to Instagram and search the hashtag #STTCchallenge to see all of the challenge cards created so far. One Friday or Saturday of each week the team will announce which 2 stamp sets that will be featured the following week. Posts go up on Tuesday and Thurday!

Thank you so much for visiting me today! I’m looking forward to creating and sharing with you all of my creations throughout the year!

Retirement Party

At the end of each Stampin’ Up! publication I like to throw a retirement party for the products that will no longer be available. Inevitably I have more ideas for cards and creativity than I am able to hold classes for and this is the perfect opportunity to showcase items one last time!

We made 5 cards at my 2018-2019 Annual Catalog and 2019 Occasions Catalog retirement party. Today I am sharing 3 with you.

The above card features the Needle Point Nook Suite from the 2019 Occasions Catalog. I CASE’d this card and the other two cards from Pinterest. I am always so inspired by my fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators and our customers that I feel obligated to share!

This card features the longest running stamp set in Stampin’ Up! history, Lovely As A Tree. I also used Kindness & Compassion, but that stamp set is sticking around.

I also try during my retirement parties to feature In Colors, embellishments, and designer series paper (DSP) that will no longer be available. With this card I hit the trifecta with the copper wire ribbon, the Love What You Do DSP, and Tranquil Tide cardstock and ink.

I have wanted to feature this cute little bumble bee card in a class for a very long time, but I just couldn’t fit it into any of the themes I had planned. Thank goodness for the retirement party!

I used blends to color in the focal bumble bee and Memento Tuxedo Black ink for all of the stamping!

I am going to miss some of the retiring Stampin’ Up! products in my regular rotation very much, but I know I will find new favorites available on June 4, 2019!

Happy Tails: Sympathy

Hello All!

I made this sympathy card to showcase the Happy Tails bundle available for 10% only until June 3, 2019. The stamp set and punch will continue in the 2019-2020, but the bundle price goes away when the 2019 Occasions Catalog ends on June 3, 2019.

I made my second video ever to show how I created the watercolor doggy silhouette and the layered Sympathy sentiment.

I love layering sentiments using adhesive sheets and die cuts. I learned this technique from other crafters and I’ve been using it ever since! I’m sad that the adhesive sheets are no longer available through Stampin’ Up! because I use them so often, but they are still available through other sources.

Please check out the video below. If you want to make the card along with me you will need the following supplies: Happy Tails Bundle, Whisper White Cardstock, Basic Black Cardstock, Water Color Paper, Smoky Slate Ink Pad, Highland Heather, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Aqua Painters, Clear Block D, Snail Adhesive, Sizzix Adhesive Sheets (no longer available, but mono glue or fine tip glue pen work great!).

Dimensions: Whisper White Card Base 8 ½” x 5 ½” (scored at 4 ¼”), Water color paper 4 ¼” x 5 ½” (a scrap piece will due), and Black cardstock 4 ¼” x 5 ½” (a scarp piece will due).

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and checking out this video! I’m learning how to film and edit better so please keep up with my as I post more! My goal was to have videos posted every Friday, fingers crossed!
