Each quarter I try to host a Birthday Card Class since most people send Birthday cards! I try to make the content a mix of feminine, masculine, and kids themes. Today I’m sharing with you two of the cards we made in my most recent Birthday Card Class!
I loved the card I shared for the Colour Combo Blog Hop in August so much that I decided I needed to make another Baby Wipe Background card! Here I took 3 colors of ink on a couple baby wipes folded over a clear block and swiped it across Whisper White cardstock. This provided a slightly smoother finish than the water color paper. I did not embossing this background because the blending of these colors created such a nice look without it!

Third time is the charm! I’m back again with another contribution for the international Colour Combo Blog Hop! This month we were challenged to use Blackberry Bliss, Pacific Point, and Pear Pizzazz. I look forward to these Colour Combo challenges more and more each month to help me step outside of my color comfort zone.
I used a baby wipe technique to create my background on Water Color Paper, but I also made several on Whisper White Cardstock and they turned out just as beautiful. I simply wrapped 3 baby wipes around an acrylic block added a few drops of Stampin’ Ink Refill in each color and swiped the block across the paper. I let it dry slightly before using the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder to give my piece texture.
Finally, for my floral image I used the To A Wild Rose set. Originally I just stamped the image on a plain Whisper White piece of cardstock, but decided to add a swatch of Pear Pizzazz using the Artisan Textures stamp set. Then I stamped my sentiment from the For The Love Of Felt stamp set. I did use a scrap of retired Glitter cardstock for this card, but you can spritz the Sparkle Glimmer Paper with alcohol/ink refill mixture and create any color glimmer paper you want!

Today I have a card class and we will be making 6 cards (2 each of 3 different designs) and I’m going to share 2 of them with you before class. This card class features the Magnolia Lane Suite (pg. 37 AC) as well as the Magnolia Blooms stamp set from the Experience Creativity brochure.
For the first card I used the Magnolia Lane Memories and More Large Specialty Cards & Envelopes to show how easy it is to create a card with only a few items! I used a stripe of Magnolia Lane DSP and dove tailed it using my Triple Banner Punch. The sentiment is stamped in Old Olive on Whisper White Cardstock die cut with one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. Finally, the magnolia bud is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, colors with Stampin’ Blends (Daffodil Delight and Old Olive sets), and die cut with the Magnolia Memories Dies.
This card will come with the coordinating envelope and envelope liner to complete the look. The Magnolia Lane Memories & More Large Specialty Cards & Envelopes pack comes with enough pieces that you can make 20 cards!
Next we will make this card using some Perennial Essence DSP as our background. I love the DSP that Stampin’ Up! offers because it is high quality and double sided. This is the opposite side to the beautiful painted floral images and works really well with other stamp sets! I love the brushed or watercolor look of this DSP even though it’s more of a “solid” color than most DSP.
For this card I used a few more products than what comes in the Magnolia Lane Suite. I used the Be Mine dies for the scallop edging and the Everyday Label Punch for the sentiment from Magnolia Blooms. I also used a retired Stampin’ Blend color (Pink Pirrouette) because my shipment with Petal Pink was delayed. I always say use what you have and order what you can’t live without!
If you are local to me and interested in taking one of my classes please feel free to email or comment with your email so I can get you signed up! All of my classes are on my calendar here.
If you are not local and you want to take this class here’s how you can! Order the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle (151087 $63.75) or the Magnolia Lane Suite (152178 $134.75) using my current host code (August AGSACZMN). Using the host code will trigger me to create a class bundle for you and once your Stampin’ Up! order ships I will send you the class bundle (6 cards, 2 each of 3 designs) and directions to complete the cards.

Today I have for you another installment of CASE The Catalog! For this card I am CASEing page 22 of the AC. This card features the all new Daisy Lane stamp set and the Special Celebrations stamp set. Details are below along with a video of how I created the background!
As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator we get access to a document that tells us exactly what products and techniques were used to create the card samples in all of the publications. I love having this tool because I’m not always right when I guess what product is used! For example with this card sample in the catalog the designer used the new Pigment Sprinkles to create the watercolor look on the background and then stamped over top.
My video shows how I thought it was done! I love how my card turned out and I think this makes an awesome masculine birthday card! I can already think of many more cards I could make with this technique and sketch layout.
Whenever I make a video for a card I have made I like to list the dimensions and the supplies to give you the opportunity to craft along with me. I hope that this is helpful.

I created this card to showcase some of the new 2019-2021 In Colors that were released a few weeks ago. Every year Stampin’ Up! gives us 5 new colors to play with that are on trend and add to our existing collection of colors.
Here I have used Rococo Rose ink, ribbon, and embellishments with the Floral Essence stamp set. I also used Shaded Spruce and So Saffron ink. My happy birthday sentiment comes from Itty Bitty Greetings and is embossed in White on Pretty Peacock cardstock. My card base, Subtle Embossed background, and Stitched Rectangle are all Whisper White Cardstock.
I have a more clean and simple stamping style and I think this card showcases that very well! I often think that I want to try to make more over the top and fancy cards, but I always go back to basics!

I found this card I made in 2016 using products that were available in that years Occasions Catalog while I was cleaning and organizing my stamp room recently. This stamp set Party Wishes was one of my favorites and I really loved how this card turned out using coordinating DSP and embellishments. Since I love a good sketch I decided to CASE (copy and share everything or copy and selectively edit) this card with currently available Stampin’ Up! products!
I used the Piece of Cake bundle from the 2019 Occasions Catalog that is available for 10% off until June 3, 2019 when the Occasions Catalog ends. I used the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP Stack from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. The stripes and dots will be retiring June 3, 2019, but there will be new patterns available in this stack in the new Annual Catalog!
I wanted to make this card in a masculine color scheme since those types of cards are harder for me to create! I used Pacific Point as my base color, Poppy Parade, and Old Olive to accent. I created the scallop boarder in my new card using the Decorative Ribbon Boarder Punch and a stripe of Old Olive Cardstock. I used linen thread and Frosted Epoxy Droplets to embellish my card.
