Follow Your Art

Most of the time when I sit down in my craft room to create I’m preparing for a class or creating content for sharing. Very rarely do I just get to try out ideas, so when I first started this card I didn’t have a direction. I wanted to create a background with the strip of buttons, but I wasn’t sure if it was possible or if it would turn out the way I envisioned.

You can’t see it in the picture, but I ran the Bermuda Bay cardstock I used for all those strips of buttons through my big shot using the Subtle 3D folder. Then add an adhesive sheet to the back before cutting them out because you know I wasn’t going to try and glue all of them down! Once I had the buttons attached I set the card base with it’s intricate background off to the side of my working space and moved on to my many other tasks.

The beginning of this card floated around my workspace waiting for the right card for a little while. So when the Fab Friday Sketch 173 was revealed I decided it was the right time to use this card base! I changed the shape from a circle to an oval, but that’s the best part about a sketch you can change them to fit the images or elements you want to use!

  1. LOVE this Caroline – what a gorgeous collection of blues and greens! So clever to create a background with that button die – I’m totally trying that! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!
