It’s time again for the monthly Colour Combo Blog Hop and WOW was this combination a challenge! Our hop host uses a random generator to pick the colors that we are going to use each month and that’s how we ended up with 3 greens. Fingers crossed for a more forgiving combo next month!
I cased the card I created from one Melody Hyde shared on Instagram last week. I was struggling with how I was going to make this colour combo work and decided to just start trying something! I inked up a Stampin’ Block with Mint Macaron and placed it down on my water color paper. Then I did the same with Coastal Cabana at a perpendicular angle.
Using my aqua painter I filled in and smoothed out the ink until I was satisfied with the saturation and the blending. Sometimes when you watercolor two colors that don’t mix well you end up with a muddy look to the colors. When I was happy with the blend I got I used my heat tool to dry the watercolor paper. I used the Stitched Rectangle dies to die cut my focal panel.
I used my Stamparatus to stamp my sentiment from For The Love Of Felt in Basic Grey ink. I know that stamping on watercolor paper can be a challenge so using my Stamparatus was a must so I could stamp over and over again! I added Call Me Clover Enamel Dots to fulfill the color combo requirement. Finally, I embossing my Smokey Slate base with the Subtle 3D Folder and assembled the card.
I’m very pleased with how this card turned out and I might try it with another colour combination in the future! Don’t forget to click the “Next” button below to continue on the hop. Thanks for stopping by!
