Today I have a card class and we will be making 6 cards (2 each of 3 different designs) and I’m going to share 2 of them with you before class. This card class features the Magnolia Lane Suite (pg. 37 AC) as well as the Magnolia Blooms stamp set from the Experience Creativity brochure.
For the first card I used the Magnolia Lane Memories and More Large Specialty Cards & Envelopes to show how easy it is to create a card with only a few items! I used a stripe of Magnolia Lane DSP and dove tailed it using my Triple Banner Punch. The sentiment is stamped in Old Olive on Whisper White Cardstock die cut with one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. Finally, the magnolia bud is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, colors with Stampin’ Blends (Daffodil Delight and Old Olive sets), and die cut with the Magnolia Memories Dies.
This card will come with the coordinating envelope and envelope liner to complete the look. The Magnolia Lane Memories & More Large Specialty Cards & Envelopes pack comes with enough pieces that you can make 20 cards!
Next we will make this card using some Perennial Essence DSP as our background. I love the DSP that Stampin’ Up! offers because it is high quality and double sided. This is the opposite side to the beautiful painted floral images and works really well with other stamp sets! I love the brushed or watercolor look of this DSP even though it’s more of a “solid” color than most DSP.
For this card I used a few more products than what comes in the Magnolia Lane Suite. I used the Be Mine dies for the scallop edging and the Everyday Label Punch for the sentiment from Magnolia Blooms. I also used a retired Stampin’ Blend color (Pink Pirrouette) because my shipment with Petal Pink was delayed. I always say use what you have and order what you can’t live without!
